Reliability Concerns

To Fulfill Power Demand at Any Time

Large amount of power is hard to reserved. To ensure the stability of system frequency, power plants should generate the amount of power the same as the power demand at any time. Generation and load in each local area need to be balanced. When generation within a certain area is rather deficient, it is necessary to have power from other regions transferred into the area via cross-area power dispatching.

There Should be Sufficient Reserves to Diminish the Probability of Unexpected Power Outage

Transmission system should be designed considering safety margin, which means that once a single equipment fails, the other can still supply power. In this way, the risk of power outage can be reduced.
